Happy New Year! Amazingly, it is 2026 already! Starting off the new year, it seemed sensible to add the above image on the very first day of the new year. It is a slight upgrade to the logo and workflow in general, reflecting the reality that so many people are now using 4k screens these days.
A brief synopsis of Moon Maiden Mission might be possibly helpful for anyone attempting to figure out anything about the story starting at this point. This may be tricky without spoiler alerts, or revealing some of the mysteries that are inherently involved, in that it is not until later that it will be revealed what the "Moon Maiden Mission" that Steve and Twenty Two are trying to find out about actually is, or was intended to be, or how it can be that nobody seems to know anything about it. Of course, Steve and Twenty Two are Space Agents, and they are on a journey to uncover information about those mysteries in the depths of the Lost Galaxy. Steve was a heroic Space Agent who became famous for his bravery and so retains his employment and salary from the department mostly for public relations purposes now that Artificially Intelligent Android Assistants like Twenty Two have replaced most of the workers on his own planet. Thus far, Space Agent Steve and Twenty Two have discovered very little about the "Moon Maiden Mission" but have gotten sidetracked by crashing their spaceship. Steve then contracted a serious virus and has lost some of his memory, so Twenty Two is mostly in charge of their fate now as he recovers on a mostly abandoned space station on the edge of the Lost Galaxy. The Lost Galaxy is not a welcoming part of the universe, and most people try to avoid going there for any reason, due to the bandits, pirates, and rumors of ghosts or worse. Quite a few other characters exist within the story, and they connect to each other in ways that will become clear over time, but those connections may not seem obvious as of yet. To give too much away too early about the motivations of Josephina and Sigridur, or the trio of bandits, or the Empress Gloria and Lillia, or the realities of Leo Station involving Pierre, Marie, and Elizabetta and the rising ocean levels on their planet would probably ruin the story. The Department of Fire's purpose, Butterfly Black's intentions, and Allison's actual scientific pursuits that led her to encounter the Fishmen from the Future, are all equally mysterious at this point of the story. During this next year more will be learned and even more characters will be added, which may lead to even more questions, but also a few answers. To be honest, Moon Maiden Mission is intentionally meant to be simply entertaining, with a large number of fanciful characters in a very large alternate universe that does not include an Earth or Earthlings of any kind. Technically, all of the characters are aliens from our perspective, and the story is filled with androids, robots, spaceships, and adventures on entirely fictional planets. Several elements of the story currently exist, which can probably all be found through the previous posts on this website, but certainly much more of the story is yet to come. It is a large ongoing project, which is likely to remain a work in progress for years to come.

Above is an image of Johnny, who works for Lysette doing mostly simple security and odd jobs for her mining expedition. Johnny is actually a machine, made almost entirely from the mineral Lysette is mining for on a remote moon in the Lost Galaxy. Despite these peculiarities, Johnny is perfectly good as Lysette's employee, as he is unquestioningly loyal, and requires very little maintenance. He needs absolutely no food, air, or water, which makes him the type of automated employee that is becoming more and more popular in the universe.
Lots of new things will be added here to this 2026 update over time this year, as the last few months have happily produced a substantial amount of work for the project. There are quite a few new characters, and new stories to add, as well as some stories to continue. An ongoing work in progress, like Moon Maiden Mission, is really simple to expand upon with tools like Blender, because so much can be built, added, and improved over time, while retaining all of the old parts in an amusing cumulative process. This works really well when everything is being created by just one person, as Moon Maiden Mission is really being created entirely by Nicolaas Stulting in Blender, with a few creative suggestions along the way from a few very thoughtful people who enjoy whimsical stories.
Moon Maiden Mission is a digital story being created in Blender by Nicolaas Stulting. Everything was made in Blender from ideas drawn in sketchbooks over many years and sensible conversations with Zarra Valdarr about storytelling and characters. The meshes and rigging for some characters were created with the help of the Manuel Bastioni Lab and MBLab add ons. The trees were created with the help of the Sapling Tree add on. Nicolaas Stulting would prefer to opt out of any AI tool training for absolutely any purpose, as his creative works are his and he is the sole owner of the copyrights. All rights are reserved.
